Italian Title: Nuovi amici

Air date: November 16th, 2010

After bringing a very sick and tired Ava to an alleyway, Wallace sneaks a tray of food from a nearby restaurant and brings it to her in order to nurse her back to health. Meanwhile, Kate starts school and meets new classmates, only to find that one of them, a boy named Mark, is in need of a pet due to him preferring to stay inside and play his video game rather than being outside with the other students.

The Pocketpedia leads Kate, Magic, and the Royal Guards to Robbie, a well-known robin in Pocketville famous for introducing different kinds of games from those played at parties to games part of the Pocketville Olympics. The group all enter the forest, where they believe Robbie can be found in as most birds live there. With his sense of smell, Magic finds a Magic Drop in a mushroom.

Unfortunately, Eva and her lackeys have set up a trap in the forest by covering up a hole dug by Zull and Gort with twigs. The protagonists fall in, not being able to find Robbie and now vulnerable to getting their half of the Friendship Heart taken by Eva.

Tropes featured in the episode:

  • 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: The tree trunk that Zull and Gort roll over the pit at the end of the episode is clearly computer-generated.
  • Artistic License: Robbie is said to be the inventor of games such as three-legged racing and pin the tail on the donkey, though this is obviously not true.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Zull and Gort blocking the hole with a fallen tree trunk and branches to let Kate, Magic, and the Royal Guards think about what to do next.
  • Dub Name Change: Robbie is known as "Cippy" in the Italian dub.
  • First Day of School Episode: Kate has her first day at the school of the Big City in this episode.
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Wallace steals a tray of food and drinks from a restaurant, meant for a pair of finely-dressed women, and gives it to Ava so she can get her energy back.
  • Orphaned Etymology:
    • The game of three-legged racing is mentioned as one of the many games Robbie created, though this kind of game only makes sense if the players are bipedal. Most Pocketville denizens have four legs, so it would make more sense if it was called five-legged racing instead.
    • "Pocketville Olympics" is brought up by Mela, though the Pocket Kingdom has no Olympia to name it after.
  • Pit Trap: Kate, Magic, and the Royal Guards get themselves trapped in a ditch dug up by Zull and Gort, who covered it up with leaves and twigs so they wouldn’t notice.
  • Shout-Out: In the Italian dub, Mark’s name is Mario, and he even tells Kate that he is named after and plays the Super Mario games.
