In the days after the Carboniferous bug house rescue mission, Drew undergoes his rounds at the park before later winding down for the evening while simultaneously thinking to himself in excitement over the missions to come.
- A Day in the Limelight: The entire chapter serves as this for Drew.
- Good Parents: Tyrannor and Rexy are still very much this to Terrence and Matilda, even with the two youngsters starting to show signs of a not entirely pleasant sibling rivalry.
- Interspecies Friendship: Drew shows early signs of starting to form this with Gideon the stegosaurus and Terrence the t-rex.
- My Greatest Failure: Downplayed in that it's not a primary motivation of his and his also more of 'my biggest regret' then anything else. But even with all his successes in life, Drew has not yet forgotten about how the one single serious romantic relationship he's ever had in his life so far ended badly not too long after graduating from college.
- Shout-Out: Two of the young juvenile stegosaurus are revealed to be named Spike and Tippy. Similarly, one of the adult males is revealed to be named Striker.
- Stealthy Colossus: Gideon manages, despite his size, to make it all the way over to the position where the walls of his paddock are the only things keeping him from literally walking directly past Drew without Drew noticing beforehand.
- Tough Armored Dinosaur: The rescued stegosaurus from Novum Initium are featured in this chapter, with one of them even starting to form a bond with Drew.
