• Brick Joke: After the team rescues Renier from the Scorpion Stinger, Leo and Damon high five, though Damon puts his hand down at Renier. At the end when the two of them are given medals, she puts her hand up for a high five.
• I Lied: Trakeena says it when she tells Damon she’s not letting Renier out.
• It's All My Fault: Damon blames himself for Renier being kidnapped and volunteers for the mission to make up for it.
• No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Subverted. Renier makes like she's going to chew Damon and Leo out for going to the Scorpion Stinger despite her explicit orders to stay away, but she actually commends them on their bravery and gives them medals.
• Out-Gambitted: Trakeena and Deviot always planned to double cross Damon. However, our heroes anticipated that and planned accordingly. By the time Trakeena says I Lied to Damon, Leo's already gotten Renier out of her cell.
• Spanner in the Works: After learning Renier has escaped, Deviot realizes Damon spoiled his plan and intends to kill him. However, more asteroids suddenly strike the ship, which gives Damon the chance to run off.
• We Need a Distraction: Damon keeps the villains focused on him, while Leo sneaks aboard and looks for Renier.
