Andros' loner attitude begins to hurt the team morale as he's lured into a trap by Ecliptor.
This episode includes examples of:
- An Aesop: There is no “I” in team and sharing things with your friends can make shouldering the burden of things easier on you.
- Demoted to Extra: Astronema, plus Elgar, is only shown asleep on the Dark Fortress as Ecliptor ventures out to dispose of Andros by himself.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Ecliptor is presented as your standard evil general instead of the Noble Demon he'd be established as later. His cyber shadows, fire breathing, and head detachment are never showcased after this outing. He even grows larger without the use of the Dark Fortress' satlellasers.
- Lured into a Trap: Andros believes that the bio signs emanating from KO-35 was a trap set up by Ecliptor, but Ecliptor didn’t go to the planet until after Andros had begun his search.
- Riddle for the Ages: Whatever was detected on KO-35 by D.E.C.A. is never really followed up on. Andros believes it to be a trap set up by Ecliptor, but he didn’t arrive on KO-35 until after the Red Ranger had begun his search there. Who or whatever the life form was is a mystery.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: From Andros' point of view, he believes that the life form D.E.C.A. detected was a trap set up by Ecliptor.
