Carlos gets entangled in a complicated situation when a girl discovers his identity as a Power Ranger, and she expects him to be at his beck and call. However, her reasoning is not as simple as "You will work for me or I'll reveal your identity".
Tropes
- Apology Gift: After Silvy apologizes for her earlier behavior, Carlos also apologizes for yelling at her by giving her a moon rock (something that she and her brother always dreamed of getting).
- Arcade Sounds: Carlos is seen playing an actual video game at the Surf Spot (1989's WWF Superstars), but the producers still saw fit to add the all-too-familiar sound effects from Donkey Kong.
- Big Damn Heroes: The Rangers arrive just as Datascammer corners Silvy.
- Blackmail: Circumstances force Carlos to morph inside of a photo booth; Silvy uses the photo evidence to force Carlos to hang out with her.
- Death of a Child: Sure, it happens off screen to a character that we never met, but that doesn't change the fact that Silvy had a 12 year old brother who recently died. She was even kneeling in front of his grave at one point!
- Freudian Excuse: Silvy takes to Carlos because she has no friends her own age and has a big interest in space.
- Friendless Background: The only friend that Silvy had after moving to Angel Grove is her now dead brother.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Carlos feels bad about chewing out Silvy after learning what became of her brother, and learning the reason why she wanted him to get her a moon rock.
- Not Me This Time: When Astronema grouses about Datascammer being destroyed, Elgar points out he had nothing to do with this.
- Something We Forgot: A couple early episodes had the teens back at Angel Grove High to demonstrate that they didn't simply drop out, but this was soon dropped in favor of space-related adventures. Here, Carlos bumps into Silvy's mother, who was one of his teachers at the school and is happy to see him again. She mentions that Carlos was one of her best students, indicating that he, T.J., Ashley, and Cassie graduated off-screen at some point.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Carlos finally cracks when Silvy demands he bring her a moon rock as a gift, calling her "spoilt rotten" and pointing out how she is potentially endangering lives by her demanding and manipulative behaviour, since he should be focused on his Ranger duties.
- This soon gives way to guilt when he discovers the full picture of Silvy's life (see My God, What Have I Done? above), but to be fair he wasn't wrong to call Silvy out for what she was doing.
- Underestimating Badassery: Astronema is having Datascammer collect information about the Rangers' weapons and abilities. When the Psycho Rangers grouse about being kept on the sidelines, she says they keep underestimating their foes' capabilities and need this data to perform better.
- Villainous Rescue: Psycho Red is about to finish Andros, but Psycho Black interrupts and forces him back to the Dark Fortress. Psycho Black couldn't care less about Andros, but he can't stand Psycho Red being such a glory hound and braggart.
- Would Hurt a Child: Datascammer while chasing after Silvy.
