The new Gold Ranger is revealed to be another Rafkon Knight by the name of Aiyon. He will only join the team if he becomes the leader over Zayto, resulting in revealing a dark secret the latter has been hiding.

- Continuity Snarl: Upon learning from Aiyon that it's said Lord Zedd will return, the other Rangers are surprised, saying Zedd has been gone for ages. This goes against the fact that they encountered him two episodes agonote .
- Early-Bird Cameo: The Primal Ultrazord, which is comprised of the T-Rex Champion Zord, Mosa Razor Zord, and the yet to be seen Ptera Freeze Zord, is seen during a flashback.
- Heroic BSoD: Zayto hits it hard after Aiyon outs his secret and loses the support of his team.
- Irony: Rafkon created the Sporix Beasts to protect their planet from an unknown evil, only for the beasts to be the ones to end up destroying Rafkon.
- Leader Wannabe: Aiyon refuses to join the team unless he's named the leader. After Zayto loses the trust of the others due to the reveal, Aiyon temporarily takes command, only to clam up when they start to lose against Wreckmate.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Aiyon says this after the whole team was forced to abandon the megazord cockpit, after Wreckmate trashed it into the water.
- Properly Paranoid: Aiyon tried to warn Zayto that the Sporix Beasts were too dangerous, but Zayto didn't listen, and it cost all of Rafkon dearly.
- The Reveal:
- Aiyon survived as his escape pod landed in the ocean and was revived by the Green Morphin Master after he was located by the Nexus Prism.
- The biggest one though? Rafkon was responsible for creating the Sporix in the first place! And Zayto was responsible for letting them out by a bad decision.
- Turned Against Their Masters: Rafkon created the Sporix Beasts to help protect the planet against evil. Instead, the creatures turned against them and destroyed the planet.
- We Used to Be Friends: Aiyon says this to Zayto after the reveal above. Fortunately, they make up by the end.
- Wham Line: Delivered by the Green Morphin Master:"Lord Zedd will reign again".
- Wham Episode: The origins of the Sporix are revealed, in particular, that it's Zayto's fault that Rafkon was devastated.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Everyone is pissed that Zayto's decision 65 million years ago led to the Sporix destroying his homeworld. And more importantly, as Amelia says, he never told anyone this until now.
