Izzy is preparing for a cross-country race, but her sportsmanship is tried when her cousin does not show up for training and Void Knight's crew hatch a plot.
Episode Tropes:
- 13 Is Unlucky: Izzy's number is 113, and during the race, Brineblast is on the move and she must give up her lead to help her rival.
- An Aesop: Sometimes doing the right thing is better than winning.
- Bait-and-Switch: Lily explains to Izzy that she was shopping with her friend Mona, making it look like she was being selfish. On the day of the race, we learn that her friend Mona has her leg in a cast and they were grocery shopping because many of the items were on high shelves.
- Batman Gambit: To save the Tiger Claw Zord before Boomtower and Mucus's bomb reaches it, the Rangers lure Brineblast to the mountain and trick him into blasting it, allowing the Zord to escape before the blast.
- Bittersweet Ending: On both ends. The Rangers manage to reawaken the Tiger Claw Zord and prevent its destruction, but Boomtower manages to snag Brineblast's Sporix Cell. As for Izzy, she finishes in last place but is at least praised by Lily and Warden Garcia for helping her rival get out of the pit and showing proper sportsmanship.
- Exact Words: Lily explains she was late to practice because she was helping a friend out with shopping. It's later revealed it was grocery shopping, because said friend had her leg in a cast and couldn't reach the high shelves.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: After her rival twists her ankle and falls into a pit, Izzy is left with the decision to either keep up her lead and win, or help her competition at the risk of losing. She picks the latter.
- Handicapped Badass: Lily has CHARGE Syndrome, and a medal for the 1500 meter run in the Special Olympics.
- Innocuously Important Episode: The episode seems like an Izzy focus episode, but it later becomes the start of her romance with her rival, Fern.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Izzy feels terrible upon learning what Lily was really doing with Mona and being cold to her the day before.
- Mythology Gag: After the Tiger Claw Zord emerges, Zayto says "Welcome back, old friend".
- Oblivious Guilt Slinging: Mona, Lily's friend whom Lily went shopping with, explains how Lily has said so many good things about Izzy, completely unaware that Izzy was mad at Lily arriving late with that "shopping with friends" excuse.
- Poor Communication Kills: Izzy doesn't let Lily fully explain her excuse of "helping a friend out with shopping" and assumes that Lily didn't have her priorities straight. It's not until she sees Mona (who is in a wheelchair and explains they were grocery shopping) that she realizes her mistake.
- Skewed Priorities: Izzy assumes that Lily's really not focusing on helping her win this cross-country race when she learns Lily helping a friend go shopping. She then realizes that said friend was in a wheelchair, and needed help grocery shopping.
- So Proud of You: Warden Garcia is glad to see Izzy showing true sportsmanship.
- What You Are in the Dark: There was nothing stopping Izzy from dropping from the race to help her rival out when she tripped on a root. Instead, she decides to help her rival get medical help, even if it causes her to end up in last place.
