The Rangers return home and formulate a plan with the resistance to save Pine Ridge. And the key to that is their man on the inside.

- Badass Normal: Tarrick may not be Void Knight anymore, but he can still kick major ass as a Rafkon warrior.
- The Bus Came Back: Izzy's cousin Lily reappears as one of the captives of Zedd.
- Canon Immigrant: Not Heckyl himself, but his Dark Ranger Powers first appeared in the Boom Studios! Comics.
- Continuity Nod: Heckyl gives an abridged retelling of his story in Power Rangers Dino Charge to Omwhyzo and Squillia.
- Evil Is Petty: Lord Zedd's tyrannical edicts over Earth include that all English-speakers must relearn their alphabet to go "ZYX" instead of "ABC", because "Zedd must come first."
- Internal Reveal: The Garcia parents learn Javi now has an artificial arm, although they don't have enough time to be given the details.
- Make My Monster Grow: In order to distract Zedd's troops, Zayto uses his magic staff to make Solon giant. She enjoys herself, but once Zayto collapses, it wears off.
- Mythology Gag: Heckyl name-drops the Spinosaurus as the source of his power, which was the dinosaur Deathryuger took his powers from and used as his Zord.
- Planning with Props: The Rangers use a globe and salt and peppers shakers as part of their plan, which is where Operation: Seasoning gets its name.
- The Reveal: Zayto's been revived through the magic of the Morphin' Masters, but as soon as that magic goes away, so does he.
- Secret-Keeper: Zayto swears Solon and Aiyon to secrecy about his limited life force magic so as not to distract the rest of the team.
- Spanner in the Works: Ohmyzo manages to scupper the plan just by showing up, forcing Heckyl to try and improvise, which ends poorly.
- Title Drop: The Cosmic Fury rangers name their plan Operation: Seasoning due to them using salt and pepper shakers as analogies to their Megazords.
- Took a Level in Badass: Not that Heckyl wasn't already a powerhouse in Dino Charge, but him becoming the Dino Charge Dark Ranger proves he is more capable than ever.
- Unspoken Plan Guarantee: The team go over Operation: Seasoning in depth, so naturally the next scene is it starting to go wrong.
