Recap / Power Rangers Beast Morphers Episode 34 The Greater Good

Go To

The Beast Morphers Rangers must join forces with their new ally to defeat his archenemy and enable him to return home.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation Explanation Extrication: When Ryjack goes giant, the sky somehow gets blocked by masses of storm clouds, making it dark, only for them to clear when he's defeated. This the The Artifact from Go-Busters and, more directly, Space Sheriff Gavan — where the Monster of the Week, instead of growing, would typically transport Gavan to a Phantom Zone where they were stronger (called "Makuu Space" in Gavan); whenever Gavan finished the monster off, the effects would fade away as he returned to reality. In Go-Busters, Rhino Doubler grew when Enter was messing around with his Makuu Space transportation device, attempting to turn it into a monster. Thus, the dark clouds were the result of the Makuu Space transporter being grown with Rhino Doubler and the clouds fading away made sense; here, they just appear out of nowhere and disappear just as quickly.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Rangers use the Morph-X tank to revert Chaku back to being fully human again, establishing early on that it can do something like this.
  • Continuity Nod: Ryjack mentions that the device that allows him to grow is something he swiped from Andresia.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Ryjack uses a device he swiped from Andresia to make himself grow in the final minutes of the episode.
  • Reverse Psychology: Evox insists that Ryjack can't fight the Rangers by himself, prompting Ryjack to do exactly that - which is what Evox actually wanted so that he could later claim Ryjack's collection for himself.
  • Sixth Ranger: Defied with Chaku who has all the usual hallmarks of this troupe; a powerful new ally from space who joins the group initially to take down some new foe, has a slew of new powers and abilities, and even has his own Pseudo-Zord called the Reptilobeast. Commander Shaw even offers him a job at Grid Battleforce that he initially accepts. However after finding out that Chaku has a daughter waiting for him the Rangers offer to turn him human again and he accepts departing Earth on good terms with the Rangers.
