Japanese Title: Koharu and the Mysterious, Mysterious Eievui!

Original Airdate: December 11, 2020

US Airdate: September 10, 2021

While Chloe is still indecisive on whether she wants to get a Pokémon of her own, Yamper befriends an Eevee that wandered from its lab and brings it to Chloe.

  • All Up to You: With Ash in a hole and Goh not having any Pokémon due to them being sucked up into Team Rocket's machine, it's up to Chloe to fight off Team Rocket's Pelipper with Yamper and Eevee.
  • Call-Back: When Goh questions why Chloe doesn't want to get more Pokémon, she brings up how she's been pressured by everyone in their class to get into them and is taking her mother's advice to take it slow like in Journeys Episode 11.
  • Contrived Coincidence:
    • Of all places Yamper decided to race off to in deviation of his normal walk is the Eevee Evolution Institute. And of all places that he decides to hide Eevee is Chloe's school.
    • Team Rocket's gacha machine breaks down when it's Chloe's time to shine, neither Ash nor Goh can help her, and their only Pokémon is the Water/Flying Pelipper against the Electric Yamper.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The next Chloe focus episode, which revolves around her finally becoming a Trainer.
  • Didn't Think This Through: When the Rocket Prize Master machine doesn't work, Team Rocket ask Pelipper to fight Chloe...except Chloe has a Yamper, which is an Electric-type. Needless to say, once Eevee joins with Copycat to mimic Yamper's Spark, Team Rocket is toast. Then, they forget that Pikachu can just jump out of the hole he and Ash are in, so an Iron Tail frees the captured Pokémon and Team Rocket is subject to another blasting off.
    • Team Rocket never thought that they could use either Meowth or Wobbuffett to join the fight instead of completely relying on Pelipper, especially Wobbuffet since Chloe would have no idea how to fight back against his counters.
  • I Choose to Stay: Eevee decides to stay with Chloe rather than return to the lab.
  • Idiot Ball: Jessie and James decide to rely on Pelipper to fight an Electric type instead of just using Meowth and Wobbuffet.
  • Personality Powers: Eevee likes to mimic other Pokémon's movements, so it makes sense that she can use Copycat to copy their moves too.
  • Poor Communication Kills: The scientists looking for Eevee were acting suspicious, so Chloe and Goh don't ask what they're doing or what they would do with Eevee once she was found.
  • Shouldn't We Be in School Right Now?: This episode reveals that Goh only goes to school on a personal promise to take tests.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Yamper diverting from his usual walking route leads him to encounter Eevee and bring the Evolution Pokémon to Chloe's school, thus having the two bond.
  • Wham Episode: After nearly fifty episodes on dithering as to whether or not she'll get into Pokémon, Chloe is now a Trainer with an Eevee as her starting mon.
  • The Worf Effect: A Hydro Pump using Pelipper is easily blasted away by a measly Spark from Yamper and a Copycat-using Eevee. Though to be fair, one was an Electric-type which is quadruple-effective.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Nearly everyone gets this to emphasize that it's up to Chloe to fight: Ash and Pikachu are stuck in a hole, Sobble and Cinderace were captured and Goh doesn't have any other Pokémon on hand, and it's very very convenient that the Rocket Gacha machine isn't working now and Team Rocket has to make due with the Pelipper that delivered it against Chloe's Yamper.
