At a Pokémon trading event, Goh encounters a trainer who is willing to trade a Heracross for a Pinsir. Looking to add Heracross to his collection, Goh opts to hunt for a second Pinsir for trading purposes.


  • Delicious Distraction: After Team Rocket sends out Scolipede and Drapion they immediately get distracted by an extra plate of Kricketina's bug food. They don't bother to battle and instead focus on eating, frustrating Jessie.
  • Funny Background Event: When Ash and Goh arrive at the Pokemon center, the camera pans over to the several trainers who are looking to trade their Pokemon. We see two of them covering their noses from the stench of a nearby Gloom.
  • Interspecies Romance: Between Goh's first Pinsir and one of Kricketina's Heracross. Which leads to:
  • Mythology Gag: The Farfetch'd that is traded during the Pokemon Center trading event is nicknamed "Dux", the same nickname of the Farfetch'd you could trade for in the original Pokemon Red/Blue games. It's even traded for a Spearow, which the NPC in the original game requests in exchange.
