The match between Kiawe and Gladion ends with Gladion's victory. Now it is Ash's match where he is set against Guzma, the Team Skull leader who wants to end the Alola League.
- Didn't See That Coming: Ash, Torracat, and especially Guzma are stunned that Golisopod essentially sacrificed its own teammate to keep itself in the battle.
- Didn't Think This Through: Golisopod activating Emergency Exit to switch out to a Pokemon weak against Fire. As this is a 2-on-2 battle, that means it has to be called back out as soon as Scizor is KOed and face a tongue-lashing by its Trainer.
- Oh, Crap!: Scizor has this expression after being switched out against its will to face a Fire Blast.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Seeing Torracat's Fire Blast coming, Golisopod uses its Emergency Exit to switch out. The only problem is that it switched out to the Bug/Steel-type Scizor.
- Sore Loser: After having his Scizor knocked out, Guzma calls out Golisopod on its cowardice rather rudely in front of a sizable audience, all four Kahunas, and the region's Professor.
