Japanese Title: The Hero Lilier and the Alola Staff!
Original Airdate: October 21, 2018
US Airdate: March 23, 2019
The kids at the Pokémon School are performing a play, where Lillie is the star. Jessie's acting bug is itched again, and she decides to try to steal the show.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Actor Allusion: A Megumi Hayashibara marathon of roles passes by at one point. The dub has its own when Lina Inverse appears, as Jessie's actress Michele Knotz is briefly switched out for Lina's English actress Lisa Ortiz.
- The Bus Came Back: Delia seems to like coming back to Alola to see Ash at the Pokémon School. This is her third cameo since the premiere, a post-Kanto record.
- Call-Back: At one point during the play, Mallow voices Tsareena offscreen for a single line, much like how Iris played the voice of Luke's Zorua who was playing a princess for his movie.
- Continuity Nod: The Chargabug & Togedemaru mecha that Sophocles made for the Pokémon School dance competition makes a return onstage.
- Mythology Gag: The blocky Pokémon costumes are a nod to Pokémon Quest.
- Not So Above It All: Bewear indulges Jessie's desire to act by being a grip in the play. When her scene as Lunala is over, she flings Jessie through the roof, then grabs the rest of Team Rocket to take them home.
- Shout-Out:
- Lillie's outfit for the play references Princess Knight.
- Many go by in the span of a few seconds, see Actor Allusion.
- Lillie and Mallow briefly change form into Utena and Anthy near the end.
- The Stinger has Rotomdex planning a new play based on Star Wars.
