This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
Beware the Nice Ones: Drampa who is known to love to play with children. It also shows why it Bullying the Dragon is not a good idea when it launches Team Rocket in the air.
Flashback: Much of this episode involves memories of Lana and Mallow meeting, as well as both of them meeting a Drampa.
Funny Background Event: Rowlet snoozing atop a pile of Pokémon food. Later, Charjabug is shown pushing him off the table.
There's also a funny foreground event when one of the Cutiefly makes Pikachu sneeze again.
I Have Nothing to Say to That: Team Rocket's scheme is so bizarre that even the usually outraged twerps just look dumbfounded. Drampa even emits this trope with a literal blank speech bubble. Its reaction in general is basically a whole lot of "Nope."
Paper-Thin Disguise: Team Rocket try to get on Drampa's good side by dressing up as little kids, with Jesse and James dressed like kindergartners and Wobbett and Meowth posing as a housewife with a baby in a stroller. Even the twerps, who constantly fall for Team Rocket's disguises, have nothing to say about this one.
Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Drampa's reaction when Team Rocket tries to lure it in by pretending to be children. Or at least, it tried to bail the first time; the second time, it used a lot more force.
Tears of Fear: In the flashback, Mallow is reduced to tears when she and Lana are completely lost.
