A moment of bonding for Jessie and Mimikyu.
After a blastoff separates Jessie and James, Mimikyu's Disguise ends up ripped asunder. This gives Jessie an opportunity to bond with her little Ghost/Fairy type. But can she repair its Disguise? Or is Meowth going to lose another of his nine lives?
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Aren't You Forgetting Someone?: Team Rocket gloat they have the upper hand when Lycanroc suffers teething troubles with Continental Crush. Then Kiawe reminds them of his presence with an Inferno Overdrive by Turtonator.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: When Jessie finally repairs Mimikyu's Disguise.
- Brown Bag Mask: Mimikyu spends half the episode wearing a paper bag.
- Bullying a Dragon: Jessie just had to taunt the Murkrow after getting back her Malasada and Mimikyu's freshly-repaired Disguise. Queue the Murkrow returning with a couple dozen of its friends.
- Call-Back: Not the first time Murkrow have crossed Team Rocket. Some Murkrow stole some of James's bottle caps in Johto.
- The Comically Serious: Mimikyu looks extremely uncomfortable throughout Jessie's shopping spree.
- Near-Death Experience: Meowth gets hexed for the third time, this time more a happy dream that ends with him in Giovanni's lap. His response when his spirit returns to his body makes you wonder if he's starting to suffer brain damage from all that time not breathing.
- As seems to be par for the course for the English dub, any image involving Meowth's spirit being outside its body is sanitized.
- Not in This for Your Revolution: Despite their bonding, Mimikyu still isn't very interested in following Jessie's orders when Pikachu is around.
- Pet the Dog: The usually cold-blooded Mimikyu starts to show some degree of care for Jessie after she helps preserve its disguise, even helping her fend off a flock of attacking Murkrow.
- Shopping Montage: Jessie goes shopping in Hau'oli Marketplace, and ends up spending all of Team Rocket's petty cash. She even tries to put new clothes on Mimikyu, who eventually decides "Screw This, I'm Outta Here"
- The Snack Is More Interesting: The flock of Murkrow that tried to steal Jessie and Mimikyu's Malasada.
- A Twinkle in the Sky: Team Rocket gets blasted off in the beginning by Turtonator's Inferno Overdrive. Dusk Lycanroc's first Continental Crush sets them up for another, but Bewear rescues them.
