—Red's Pikachu
Hi Red. Hi Pikachu. Hi Squishy.
The Pilot Episode of Pokémon Generations follows Red and Pikachu as they visit all six currently-seen regions of the Pokémon world.
Tropes:
- Art Shift: It starts looking like Pokémon Red and Blue, with Bulbasaur fighting a Pikachu that is then caught. Then a shadow appears, and Red picks up the Poké Ball, and it changes to the anime format.
- Continuity Cavalcade: Red takes his Pikachu to locales in all six Pokémon regions, beginning with facing a Caterpie in Viridian Forest, and ending with meeting Zygarde Complete outside the Terminus Cave in Kalos.
- No-Sell: Pikachu's electric attacks fail to affect a grouping of Woopers in the Johto region, due to their Ground typing.
- Took a Level in Badass: Pikachu goes from a weak level 3 Pokémon that can barely fight a Caterpie to a badass electric rodent fighting off a Noivern.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Multiple Legendaries appear out of nowhere throughout the short film and when Red sees them he doesn't appear phased at all.
