The second semi-final battle between Flash and Applejack begins, with their first battlefield being an ice field.
- Death of a Thousand Cuts: Daisyjo manages to pin down Skyler with her heavy weight and starts draining his energy with Horn Leach. Cadance comments that even though Horn Leach won't drain much energy it will still cause problems if Skyler doesn't find a way to get out of there. Luckily for Skyler he manages to free himself with Steel Wing before he loses too much energy.
- Double Knock Out: Springer and Clobberoo's battle ends in a draw with both knocked out.
- Failures on Ice: This happens a lot to both Flash's and Applejack's Pokémon, due to the ice field giving them trouble and causing them to slip several times.
- Oh, Crap!: Flash has this reaction when Applejack has her Ludicolo use Rain Dance, which will put Viper at an even greater disadvantage by weakening his Fire attacks.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title of the chapter is a reference to the song "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice.
- So Proud of You: Granny Smith tells Applejack that regardless of if Applejack wins or loses against Flash she is proud to call Applejack her granddaughter.
- Status Infliction Attack: Springer suffers from the burn effect due to Clobberoo's Blaze Kick.
- That's Gotta Hurt: When Skyler slams into Daisyjo and sends her crashing through one of the rocks on the battlefield, Mic comments that had to hurt. Celestia agrees, saying that if it wasn't for Grattle's high defense and stamina the battle would have probably ended with that move.
- Took a Level in Badass: Applejack's Applin and Lombre are revealed to have evolved into a Flapple and Ludicolo respectively.
