Team Shadow finally discover the Altar of Summons hidden in Mount Tartarus. As Chrysalis and Doom Raizer investigate it with their team of grunts and attempt to see if they can get it working with their half of the Crystal Heart, they are attacked by the heralds of Alicormony, attempting to put a stop to Team Shadow's evil plans.
- The Bad Guy Wins: Played With; Team Shadow manages to capture Pegasoar, Mysticorn, and Horsearth in some of their Energy Traps, and they know the altar still works. However, without the other Heart Fragment they are still stuck at the moment without being able to proceed with their plans. They are also unaware that their experiments with the altar have apparently attracted the attention of Flash and his friends as they climb the mountain.
- Combat Pragmatist: Chrysalis realizes that she and Doom are not going to defeat the three Heralds of Alicormony in a straightforward fight, even with a few Grunts assisting them. So instead, Chrysalis traps them using some Energy Trap devices.
- Connected All Along: As was hinted at previously, it is confirmed that Team Shadow funded Doctor Mechano, and took his Energy Traps for themselves to use for their plans.
- Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Team Shadow manages to capture the heralds of Alicormony.
- Villain Episode: This chapter primarily focuses on Team Shadow, with Chrysalis and Doom Raizer discovering the Altar of Summons, experimenting how much it works with just their half of the Crystal Heart, and battling the heralds of Alicormony when they show up to stop them. Flash and his friends still appear, but only in the B-Plot with them climbing up Mount Tartarus.
