After Twilight's victory in the first match of the Hoofington Battle Tournament, the first round continues. The next Battle Royal consists of Rainbow Dash, Heath Burns, Trixie, and Cedar, followed by Flash Sentry, Rarity, Doc, and Pinkie Pie in the third.
- Ask a Stupid Question...: Rainbow asks one to Wondor after it just barely manages to win a brutal battle.Rainbow: (catching Wondor as it collapses) Whoa! You okay?
Wondor: Won...
Rainbow: Okay, yeah... maybe that was a dumb question. - Beam-O-War: The climax of the third battle has Aura Sphere vs Flash Cannon. Lairon's Flash Cannon initially overpowers Springer's Aura Sphere, until Springer starts pushing the Aura Sphere against the Flash Cannon himself all the way towards Lairon, with the orb finally exploding when it is near Lairon at the zenith of the beam. Both of them are knocked back by the shockwave, but Springer recovers first and strikes Lairon with Draining Punch, sending it crashing into the stadium wall and winning the battle.
- Deadly Dodging: Flash has Springer rush toward Liarion, with Doc ordering a Flash Cannon. This is exactly what Flash and Springer want though, and Springer slides under the attack with the laser flying over him, and stricking Mellowmarsh instead while it was right behind him amd unable to see Flash Cannon coming due to the smoke from its Play Rough attack. Doc and Liarion don't realize they've been tricked until it's too late.
- Enemy Mine: Flash, Doc, and Pinkie all gang up on Rarity and her Pyruby after she reveals Pyruby knows Wildfire, knowing how dangerous that move can be.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Blazard manages to burn Wondor with its Flamethrower, but then Wondor defeats it with its Facade attack, which is even stronger if the user is burnt, poisoned, or paralysed.
- Mêlée à Trois: Continuing the first round of the Hoofington Battle Tournament, the second battle ends with Rainbow's vicotry and the third with Flash's.
- Post-Victory Collapse: Rainbow's Wondor has its legs give out on it after winning its Battle Royal, with Rainbow managing to catch it.
- Race Against the Clock: After Wondor is burned by Flamethrower, Rainbow has a limited time to win the battle before Wondor is knocked out from the damge it takes from it. She succeeds, defeating both Heath and Trixie before that can happen.
- Rocket Jump: When Springer starts to fall through the air after being knocked off-balance from a rock exploding in his face via a Moonblast, Liarion and Mellowmarsh prepare a Flash Cannon and Moonblast at Springer while he is vulnerable and can't dodge while in the air. Flash gets Springer to avoid the attack by using a small "Aura Clap", creating a small Aura Sphere in each paw and clapping them together to create a small explosion and force himself upwards a bit so the attacks just strike each other instead of him.
- That's Gotta Hurt: Mic says this when Wondor is hit by Flamethrower, and gets burned as a result.
- Took a Level in Badass: Trixie's Hatenna is revealed to have evolved into a Hattrem off-screen, same with Pinkie's Mellow evolving into a Mellowmarsh. Though niether of these are enough for them to win their respective battles.
- Unskilled, but Strong: Rarity has pretty powerful Pokémon, but she herself isn't much of a strategist. She has her Pyruby use Wildfire, a very powerful move very quickly into her battle, instead of saving it for a better time when she could have taken all her opponets out at once. All she does is put a target on her back and get ganged up on by Flash, Doc, and Pinkie due to having such a strong move, and ends up being the first eliminated.
