Recap / Peg + Cat S1E4 "The Golden Pyramid Problem"

Go To

It begins with Peg and Cat acting as Knights of the Round Table. They hear a cry for help and go over to respond, but are still in a playful mood, galloping instead of walking (Peg's idea) and counting their steps as they go (Cat's idea). Halfway through, Peg decides to count by twos, since technically galloping involves taking two steps at a time.

They then arrive at a stream and meet a mermaid, who was the one calling for help, and she explains that her three golden pyramids have been taken. The mermaid says that the golden pyramids were too beautiful to imagine, but Peg can imagine them clearly. So the mermaid adds that she couldn't imagine the thief: a bipedal toad. However, Peg can imagine that just fine too.

Peg and Cat swear to find the pyramids, but there's a problem: they have no idea where the toad or the pyramids are. However, they then spot some footprints which could well belong to the toad. They follow the footprints, continuing to gallop and skip-count.

They find the toad, who initially denies stealing the pyramids, but admits it when Cat says, "Really?!". He then offers them three cubes instead, painting them gold, but Peg points out that pyramids are too different. The toad relinquishes the pyramids, but then a dragon steals them. Ramone arrives in a bubble because apparently he's a wizard today and gives them a magical cylinder to help them. The cylinder has many properties: it can make Peg fly (while Cat is holding her leg, so he flies too), make birds appear, move things out of the way, and supposedly makes its holder invincible.

They arrive at the dragon's cave, who's angry because they apparently woke him up. She hands Cat the cylinder and he tries to hand it back but hands her one of the cubes and a balloon. They soon get the cylinder back, however, and tickle the dragon into revealing that he traded the pyramids with the King for spheres and the King took the pyramids to his castle.

They fly to, and into, the castle, skip-counting again (this time to count the pillars) and then find out that the Pig has become King. The inevitable "totally freaking out" scene then ensues because she cannot find the golden pyramids. However, instead of doing her usual counting backwards thing, she says, "Ten, four, six, eight, two" instead. Cat then bumps into the Pig's throne, knocking his crown onto his head and revealing that the pyramids were hidden in the crown.

They fly off with the pyramids, return them to the mermaid, and explain how they got them back in song.
