Recap / Paradise PDS 04 E 10 The Eternal Reckoning

Go To

The Eternal Reckoning comes to fruition, endangering the life of Baby Kevin. Using his newly-earned respect, Kevin Crawford takes it upon himself to lead the Paradise Party Dudes to take Charles Lovely down and save his brother, as well as the entire city of Paradise.

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: As it turns out, all Lovely Corp technology was designed to go rogue and turn on their owners at the push of a button. This comes into play during the episode when Charles Lovely makes all of the products attack the people of Paradise.
  • Bad Job, Worse Uniform: Kevin, Norf, and Baby Kevin get jobs working for the OSHA-violating torture chamber, Lovely Corp. Their uniform comes complete with a diaper that has a metal spike in it, in case any of them gets the nasty temptation to sit down.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Wilbur the Karate Wizard shoots Elon Musk in the head.
  • Call-Back: This episode is filled with several callbacks to previous episodes:
    • Robby reminds Delbert of that time Paradise was turned into a giant pizza and shows Delbert that one of their chairs is still a giant pepperoni slice.
    • Drinkle's Dentistry from the very first episode returns, now being renamed "Drill-o Dentistry", in lieu of the arrest and death of Dr. Dinkle (AKA "Terry Two-Toes").
    • Fitz goes birdwatching and finds a pigeon with a polaroid of Camaro Bob's dick pic, calling back to "King of the Norf".
    • Conjoined Twins Dusty eats Mr. Shrimp from "Trigger Warnings".
    • Hopson wakes up from his nap and exclaims the non-sequitur, "We're going to Brickleberry!", apparently still experiencing some jet lack from their crossover a few seasons back.
    • The Strawberry Action Squad from "Diddy's Home" returns to fight the battle on Lovely Corp.
    • This episode also follows up on what happened to Gina after she dumped Kevin at the altar.
    • At the worst possible time, Randall tries to solve all of his problems by singing "Pump Up the Jams" again.
  • The Cameo: One of the floors of Lovely Corp leads to the titular planet from Farzar.
  • Character Development: Randall exhibits that he's grown since the last episode, now finally respecting Kevin for the alpha chad he is.
    [Baby Kevin gets taken away]
Randall: Noooo! That's the son I do love! Wait, I love both sons now... Weird.
  • Cliffhanger: Due to the cancellation of the show being announced after this season finished production, this episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of the series up in the air.
  • Conjoined Twins: Dusty has two pairs of Siamese twins in his family. First, there's "Conjoined Twins Dusty", who are joined at the butt and share an anus. Secondly, there's "Two-Headed Dusty", who like to wear their different fancy hats.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears:
    • Fitz covers Junior's ears after Bullet brings home a prostitute.
    • Frank covers Jerry's eyes after Bullet starts having sex with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Elon Musk faces off against Wilbur the Karate Wizard and is instantly pistoled in the head.
  • Cutaway Gag:
    • This episode gives us a cutaway gag to a time when Kevin was a little kid and Karen ran over his dog.
      Karen: ...He was a rapist.
    • There's also the cutaway to a drunken Bullet having sex with Hopson through the glory hole.
Bullet: You uh, promise you're a woman over there?
Hopson: I swear on my testicles!
      Bullet: Good enough for me.
  • Demonic Possession: Charles Bronson's Ghost possesses the body of Jeff Bezos and makes him punch himself.
  • Drunk Driver: Camaro Bob inadvertently crushes a bunch of evil AI to death, by driving over them all, completely wasted.
Camaro Bob: Thank God they weren't school kids this time, baby.
  • Elevator Buttons Mash: Dusty mashes all the buttons in the elevator, meaning that the party dudes have to stop at every single ridiculous floor on their way to the roof.
  • Evil Plan: Charles Lovely's evil plan, The Eternal Reckoning, finally comes to fruition in this episode. His plan is to kidnap Baby Kevin, using the Snuggle Me Lovely doll, and gather around him with his cult of other CEOs to use their ethereal powers to harvest his immortal soul under the aligned planets of the solar system to give themselves eternal life.
  • Extreme Omnisexual:
    • Hopson has a long list of everything he wants to fuck before he dies. His fuckit list includes a one-armed ventriloquist, a fully-plucked albatross, and Hordak from the She-Ra cartoons.
    • Later on, Bullet has sex with a vacuum cleaner.
Bullet: Hey, fuck it. We're all gunna die.
  • Floating Continent: Charles Lovely has the entire city of Paradise lifted off the ground with rocket boosters and flying through the skies above.
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: Played with. The party dudes all transport their brains into the bodies of their clones, only for them to all accidentally get put into the wrong bodies before eventually going back to their body-switching machine and setting themselves back to normal.
  • Groin Attack: Kung-Fu Kangaroo kicks Leprechaun Made Out of Rocks into the nads of Jeff Bezos.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Gina kicks Charles Lovely in the head to hinder The Eternal Reckoning, proving that she was actually on the good guys' side the entire time. As Gina explains later, she was actually going undercover as a Lovely Corp agent to help take him down and she actually works for The Strawberry Action Squad.
  • Immortality Seeker: Charles Lovely's goal is to gain immortality by consuming the soul of Baby Kevin.
  • The Infiltration: Kevin and Norf have to infiltrate Lovely Corp, by becoming employees there and setting The Resistance free from their cage.
  • Insult to Rocks: A few of these jokes happen.
    • Thester chooses to work as a lackey for the corrupt, hegemonic plutocrat, Charles Lovely because it was less toxic than working for Ellen.
    • Norf enjoys working in the hostile and abusive work environment of Lovely Corp because it's comparatively better than his old job at Amazon.
  • Killed Off for Real: Elon Musk is shot in the head.
  • Last Day to Live: Fitz and Bullet assume that they're gunna die because of The Eternal Reckoning and decide to help Junior live his last day on Earth to the fullest.
  • Medium Blending: A live-action version Dusty Marlow shows up for a quick gag.
Dusty: What are you doing here? Nobody invited you, Live-Action Dusty!
Live-Action Dusty: Kiss my ass, fart-knocker!
  • Long List: Hopson's fuckit list is so long that it touches the floor.
  • Mutants: One of Dusty's cousins is from Chernobyl, Russia and has a mutated face on his belly.
  • One-Steve Limit: One of Dusty's cousins in named "Randy", despite there already being a "Randall" in the main cast. Fortunately, Dusty insists on calling him "Cock-Eyed Dusty" instead, which helps avoid confusion.
    Randy: My name is Randy!
    Dusty: Shut up, Cock-Eyed Dusty!
  • Overly Long Gag: The introduction of The Strawberry Action Squad has the announcer sing the names of all 10 members, which takes a very long time.
  • Pulling Themselves Together: Subverted. Jerry dismantles the skeleton of Randy Savage and throws his bones outside of the cage they're trapped in. After this, Thester expects him to do this so that he can walk around outside and find the key to help them escape. Randy tells him what he'd been trying to tell him for a while, that he never had the ability to reassemble himself like that.
Thester: Pull yourself back together and go find the key!
Randy: I never said I could do that!
  • Selective Obliviousness: Karen is in denial when Charles Lovely's evil plan unfolds before her very eyes.
  • Separated by a Common Language: British English is mocked, when we hear all the stupid synonyms Thester has for basic words in American English, (i.e. referring to "Toothpaste" as either "Dental Pudding" or "Mouth Custard").
Thester: An elevator? Hah! You Americans and your silly words. In England, we call it an "Up Down Up Down Dinga Ding Ding Dong Ding Dong Up Down Machine".
  • The Stinger: During the ending credits, Robby and Delbert show up to break the fourth wall to explain why the series ended on a cliffhanger and assure the audience that there's still hope for a proper finale, considering their quietly performing sister show, Farzar gets a second season, in which case, they'll do their finale via crossover episode with them.
  • Uncanny Family Resemblance: Dusty's cousins all look exactly like him, just wearing different outfits.
  • Vicious Vac: Subverted. Bullet fights against a rogue vacuum cleaner, only for this vacuum cleaner to turn out to be a girl, which makes Bullet fall in love with her and become her new boyfriend.
  • When the Planets Align: The Eternal Reckoning involves an infant blood harvest that only works when the planets of the solar system align overhead.
