Go To

After evading a Neolution attack in Iceland, Sarah returns home to track down an elusive new ally. She follows breadcrumbs and uncovers the next facet of Neolution's agenda.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Artistic License – Biology: Helena's unborn twins are discovered to share an umbilical cord and thus be identical, like her and Sarah. Identical twins don't run in families, only fraternal twins do. As far as scientists can tell, the splitting of fertilized eggs that leads to identical twins happens at random.
  • Awful Truth: Whatever Beth learned about the clones drove her to suicide.
  • Body Horror: Wherever Neolution goes, this trope seems to follow. We see more of the murder victim from last episode, and they seem to have a habit of implanting those maggot creatures in people's cheeks. The results can be gruesome.
  • Burner Phones: New season, new phones; this time they're purple.
  • Daddy's Girl: Kira is extremely upset about having to leave Cal behind in Iceland, since she, Sarah, Mrs. S, and Kendall had to leave on really short notice.
  • Fiery Cover-Up: An unusual heroic example. Mrs. S burns down the safe house in Iceland so the Neolutionists can't find any information about them (or get any of Kendall's DNA).
  • Flashback: We get a several quick flashbacks of Beth.
  • Gene Hunting: Felix has been looking for his biological family, since he feels rather left out after learning that Sarah is actually related to Mrs. S. He knew Sarah wouldn't approve, which is why he avoided her in the beginning of the episode.
  • Given Name Reveal: M.K.'s real name is Mika. Or at least, that's what Beth called her.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Alison is rather jealous of Helena's pregnancy, especially after finding out that Helena's having twins.
  • Last-Second Word Swap/Gosh Darn It to Heck!: Alison uses the "shiitake mushrooms" variant.
  • The Men in Black: The sinister agents who assault Sarah in the laundromat. They seem to be looking for M.K., which is further indication that she is Properly Paranoid. On the other hand, they also seem to be unaware that Beth is dead, although that could be an act.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Beth went out somewhere in a blond wig and came back with blood literally on her hands. She's clearly shaken by whatever happened and has a near-breakdown. Beth tells M.K. to forget about Dyad and stay in the dark.
  • Naked Apron: Alison walks in on Felix while he's painting, which he does wearing only an apron.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The previews for the episode implied that Neolution burned down the safe house in Iceland to draw Sarah and company out, but nope, Mrs. S. did it to prevent Neolution from getting more information on them.
  • No Pregger Sex: Averted. Helena mentions that she's been having sex with Jesse and the ultrasound technician assures her that's perfectly safe.
  • The Reveal: Several this episode.
    • The Dyad implanted one of the maggot-like creatures in Sarah's cheek when she was in their custody.
    • Something Beth discovered in her investigation of Neolution appears to have driven her to suicide.
    • Kendall has leukaemia, and doesn't want Clone Club or Mrs. S. to know.
    • Helena is expecting identical twins.
  • Skewed Priorities: Alison is frustrated about the Neolutionists' return because her schedule is already completely booked.
  • Time Skip: Kendall confirms they've been in Iceland for 3 months. In that time, the Dyad has been severely weakened and Cosima and Scott have moved their research to a secret lab under a comic book shop.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In-universe. Clone Club is stumped as to where Delphine is or what happened to her.
