Clarissa enlists Dylan to perform at the annual summer party.

This episode features examples of:

  • Anti-Humor: Hansel thinks Dylan is trying this, not realizing it's more a case of how Dylan Cannot Tell a Joke.
Hansel: It's funny cause it's not funny!
  • Balloon Belly: Dylan gets one, while sulking about his personality.
  • Be Yourself: After spending most of the episode concerned about his personality, Dylan learns to be happy about being himself.
  • Brutal Honesty: D.J. gives this to Dylan.
D.J.: I won't lie. If you were a piece of music, you'd probably be what plays in an elevator.
  • Cannot Tell a Joke: Dylan is this, to the point of Hansel thinking that Dylan is doing so deliberately.
  • Facepalm: Dolly and ALL the puppies do this, when Dylan agrees to perform at Clarissa's party, clearly as a setup, because Portia's gonna be there.
  • How We Got Here: The episode begins after Dylan has been covered in pink paint, with him narrating how he got there.
    • In the end Clarissa tries this, before Dylan shuts her down and the episode ends.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: Diesel does this, when Dylan is conducting a survey about his personality.
    Diesel: Errr... digdigdigdigdigdigdigdig!
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: One puppy falls asleep in the middle of Dylan's jokes.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: D.J.'s reaction to Dylan's comedy.
  • Shout-Out: Dylan getting pink paint dunked on him, which ultimately causes him to snap, is similar to the pig's blood scene in Carrie.
  • Stealth Pun: Continuing with the 'Carrie' homage, Dylan begins making quips about those laughing at him; or, in other words, he "burns" them.
  • Those Two Girls: Lampshaded by Dylan, commenting how it's difficult to tell Arabella and Prunella apart from each other.
