Skales, in an attempt to overthrow Ninjago, digs into the tomb containing the foot soldiers of the Overlord - the Stone Army. The Stone Army quickly overpower and trap the Serpentine in the tomb and begin an assault on Ninjago City.
This episode provides examples of:
- Make Way for the New Villains: The Serpentine are taken out of the story at literally the same time the Stone Army is introduced as the new villain faction due to Skales' Suicidal Overconfidence.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: The Serpentine realize too late that they're about to be sealed underground again.
- Sealed Army in a Can: The Stone Army were sealed in a tomb by the First Spinjitzu Master and are revived by the Great Devourer's venom when the Serpentine burrow underground in an attempt to collapse Ninjago City. The Serpentine themselves get sealed in the same tomb once the Stone Army marches out.
