With Pythor too far into his hunt for the final Fangblade, the Ninja opt to steal the other three Fangblades instead, but are caught and captured. Now only Lloyd and Garmadon can save them and Ninjago from certain doom.
This episode provides examples of:
- Achievements in Ignorance: Cole inadvertently uncovered the secret pathway to the Serpentine hideout after messing with some graffiti.
- Armor Is Useless: Averted; it turns out that Jay's ZX armor actually provides a functional purpose—blocking Fangpyre bites.
- Big Damn Heroes: Garmadon and the Skulkin save the Ninja from the Serpentine.
- But Now I Must Go: With the Fangblades in the Ninja's possession and Lloyd safe and sound, Garmadon has no reason to stay, and leaves the Bounty during the Dance Party Ending.
- Didn't Think This Through: Zane points out that for the Serpentine's determination to unleash the Devourer, they'd likely be consumed as well.
- Enemy Mine: The Skulkin army hates snakes more than the ninja. Additionally, they ally again with Garmadon even after he betrayed Samukai.
- Heel Realization: A Venomari soldier freaks out when Zane points out how the Great Devourer will likely consume the Serpentine as well, and begs the Ninja to stop Pythor.
- No-Sell: The Ninja develop techniques to do this to the Serpentine tribes' abilities—Kai simply closes his eyes to avoid Skales's hypnosis, Jay uses his armor to block Fangtom's bite, Cole is able to slip out of Skalidor's crushing grip, and Zane uses his connection to the Falcon to see through the Falcon's eyes, allowing him to avoid the hallucinatory effects of Acidicus's venom.
- Original Position Fallacy: Lampshaded. A Venomari soldier boasts once Pythor unleashes the Great Devourer there is nothing it won't consume. Zane points out that because of that, the Serpentine will very likely become its victims as well. The soldier immediately begs the Ninja to stop Pythor.
- Villainous Rescue: Garmadon and the Skulkin army save the ninja from the Serpentine.
- You and What Army?:Lloyd: Well, if we don't meet again, Pythor. Unhand the Ninja, or suffer humiliation against the Green Ninja! (The Serpentine laughs at him.)Pythor: Oh, yeah? You and what army?Lloyd: Uh, how about my army of fists? (He punches, but almost falls again. Everyone laughs.)Garmadon: Or this army? (He stands in front of the Skulkin.)Lloyd: Dad!
