The ninja and their allies face off against the Overlord's armies, while Lloyd and Garmadon face their opponent directly.
- 11th-Hour Superpower: The four original ninja finally manage to unlock their dragon forms, and use them to mop the floor with the Vengestone Warriors.
- Back for the Finale: Dozens of the ninja's allies arrive to help in the final fight, including; Okino, Vania and the army of Shintaro, the Lowly, the Geckles, the Munces, Benthomar and the Merlopians, Twitchy, Sally, Ray, and Maya.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The Overlord reveals he was the one who infected the Great Devourer, so it would transform Garmadon into a suitable vessel for his return.
- Heel–Face Turn: Hearing the Overlord is the one responsible for the Great Devourer, and therefore the death of her parents, causes Harumi to turn on him, for all the good it does.
- Literal Disarming: Okino manages to slice off the Mechanic's mechanical arm.
- Oh, Crap!: The episode ends as Wu realizes what the Overlord's true plan all along was; corrupting the elements of creation. And now it's too late to stop it.
- One-Winged Angel: The Overlord discards his minifig form for a towering evil centaur form.
- Power Gives You Wings: Or dragon wings rather, courtesy of the titular Dragon Forms.
- Talk to the Fist: Or Elemental Powers, as the case may be. Aspheera, last one standing of the Crystal King's council, goes on another rant about revenge, but this time Zane shuts her up by freezing her solid.
