- Riyu finds a copy of Clutch Powers's book, which regularly appeared in the original series. Just like one of its earliest appearances, it's on the body of a dead adventurer.
- Nya tells Sora about Djinn and the destruction of Djinnjago, which happened all the way back in Skybound.
- Clap Your Hands If You Believe: At first, Arrakore's unable to use his wish magic, having given up hope in himself and bringing back Djinnjago. However, it's only after Nya and Sora inspire him to have hope that he starts to regain his powers.
- Foil: Both Sora and Arrakore share a similar theme in the episode, lacking hope and worrying that anything they do will be in vain or just cause more trouble. Sora even realizes this as she mocks Arrakore's hopeless attitude, realizing how similar she sounds to him.
- The Reveal: Arrakore turns out to have not only known dragon Sora in the past but also knows their real name, Zanth.
- Surrogate Soliloquy: Zane speaks to a picture of Pixal taped to a broom in order to organize his thoughts.
