Ash: Dude, chill. Weren't going that fast. Thought I was late. Usually I don't give half a #$&% but I heard about this place's detentions. No thank you... 'Sides, he's fine isn't he?
Dante: Hmmm...your family was a bunch of Nazis! I guess that makes you even worse than what you are...a demonic human...The fact that you worked for the one who unleashed these beasts on this planet makes me really upset...Just saying!
Iris: Eye spy? Despite herself, Iris chuckled a little bit. The other girl's cheer was contagious. I hope you realize you're at a massive disadvantage.
Jack: Upon seeing Dawn Why couldn't I have been wearing my suit? I look so much better in the suit.
Mahvash: You may call me Mahvash, splendor of the moon. I can add as tall "as a cypress tree," but then you'd just be looking between me and Sister Redwood. I wouldn't blame you for looking though.

Zach: Oh, my father forced the ink onto me in an attempt to do...something. Either way I'm not sure what he wanted to do to me, but he basically messed me up with it! And...well, you learn to live with it after about ten years.
- Short Synopsis: The students of the new Class One are left to their own devices in homeroom before the teacher arrives and prompts them to introduce themselves. They later introduce their abilities in the training room and finally introduce themselves more causally at a restaurant.

Tropes
- Breather Beginning: Compared to the three incidents in under a week the previous year. Yes. That said, this is only part of the first day...
- Deadly Prank: Or at least incapacitating one. Kilgore's entrance gives Dante a bout of acute PTSD.
- Drives Like Crazy: Not Mahvash this time, and one only has Mikael's internal narration as a warning...
- Fantastic Racism: Sort of. It's deliberately not an analogue to real world racism, but there is tension between the extraordinary empowered people and those not. A couple let it slip in the restaurant.
- Hell of a Time: Fluffy hardly notices that she's in the Abyss.
- Long List: Mahvash's hobbies.
- The Pollyanna: Zach.
- Rescued from the Underworld: Mikael has to retrieve Fluffy from the Abyss. Thing is, see above. She made no attempt to get out herself. And the rest of the class, sans Dawn, proved rather blase about Fluffy being stuck there.
- Robot War: The scenario in the training room.
- Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Ash and Mikael quickly descend into this for each other.
