* NiceHat: Rarity's giant hat creation is a [[SubvertedTrope subversion]]. Nopony else seems to be impressed by it, and she isn't quite satisfied with it either.

* SuckinessIsPainful: Maud's poetry gives the [[Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy Vogons]]' poetry a run for their money[[note]]In fact, it greatly resembles the poetry of the [[http://hitchhikers.wikia.com/wiki/Azgoths_of_Kria Azgoths of Kria]], shown as a FreezeFrameBonus in the [[Series/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy TV series]][[/note]], as Twilight visibly cringes when she listens to it.

* OverlyLongGag: Maud's introduction. She is taking her time moving toward the Mane Six, ''slooooowwly''...
** Bonus points that the only audio heard during this is very faint hoofsteps over the soft helicopter sounds of Tank's flying device.

* AngerBornOfWorry: After Maud saves Pinkie from Pinkie's own obstacle course, she glares at Pinkie, who shrinks under the glare before Maud pulls her into a hug.

** The obstacle course Pinkie makes is quite evocative of the Nickelodeon classic ''{{Double Dare}}''.

* HeelRealization: The Mane cast felt terrible after hurting Pinkie's feelings by saying to her that they couldn't really consider Maud a friend.

* {{Useless Protagonist}}s: Downplayed. In a moment when Pinkie gets trapped in a mountain-pile of rocks and is in danger of a boulder falling and crushing her flat, the rest of the Mane cast ''do'' start to run in her direction, but they flinch away from Maud's SuperSpeed dash and start gawking instead of trying to help, with Rarity and Twilight forgetting about their magic.
