October has arrived, and with it the excitement for the annual U.A. School Festival. Like the Sports Festival for the Hero course, the School Festival is designed to showcase the talents of the General, Support, and Management courses. Aizawa leaves it up to the class to decide what they'll do. Although Iida and Yaoyorozu are initially overwhelmed with the deluge of ideas, 1-A later comes up with the idea to put on a performance to lighten everybody's spirits, with Jiro's musical talents at the center.
Meanwhile, Midoriya and Mirio visit Eri in the hospital. Saddened by the notion that Eri no longer knows how to smile, they resolve to bring her to the festival. Unbeknownst to them, however, a villain duo by the name of Gentle and La Brava are off causing mayhem for the internet, and have set their sights on U.A.

- Brits Love Tea: Played for Laughs; Gentle pours himself tea while on a windy rooftop to complete the Gentleman Thief image, but the wind blows the tea in La Brava's face. He also accidentally burns his mouth when he takes a sip.
- Cosplay Café: Kaminari suggests a maid cafe.
- Fictional Social Network: YapTube is a counterpart to Youtube.
- Finger-Forced Smile: Eri tries this on herself when attempting to make herself smile for Midoriya and Mirio. It doesn't work.
- Guilt Complex: Eri apologizes to Midoriya and Mirio for being a burden, but Mirio assures her that they and the other heroes saved her just to see her smile again.
- Heal the Cutie: Midoriya invokes this storyline to help Eri smile again. Since she was isolated for most of her life, he asks Aizawa to bring her to the Cultural Festival as a starting point.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Jiro is shy about her musical talents because she views them as a hobby unrelated to her hero work. The class encourages her.
- Literal Metaphor: Deku believes that they haven't "saved" Eri just yet. They did save her from Overhaul clutches, but not from his influence on her.
- Preemptive "Shut Up": Mineta is silenced before he makes his suggestion of what the class should do for the Festival. Obviously, it has something to do with "boobs", which is more than enough to stop him.
- Wham Line: Eri says that she has forgotten or doesn't know how to smile. This gives Midoriya and Togata a horrible realization that Overhaul's abuse has emotionally and psychologically damaged her.
