"Relief for License Trainees" is the 17th episode of My Hero Academia's fourth season, and the 80th episode overall.

Todoroki, Bakugo, Inasa, and Camie continue to try and reach out to the children. After defending themselves from a barrage of attacks from the children's powerful Quirks, they put their plan into motion. Todoroki creates an ice slide using the projectiles the children had fired at them; Inasa uses his wind powers to set them on the ride; Camie uses her illusion powers to cast auroras. Meanwhile, Bakugo reaches out to the ringleader and advises him not to look down on others. The students had achieved their goals of broadening the children's perspective about Quirks, and pass the training course.

Back at U.A., Nighteye's funeral comes and goes, and hero studies pick up once again. Aoyama attempts to initiate contact with Midoriya in ways that freak the latter out, but Aoyama later explains that he recognizes that Midoriya's Quirk is too much for his body. Aoyama suffers from something similar; without his special belt, his Navel Laser leaks out and hurts him.

Tropes in this episode:

  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • Like its predecessor, this episode showcases the growths of Todoroki, Bakugo, and Endeavor.
    • Aoyama also gets focus in the latter half when he reaches out to Midoriya since he recognizes that like him, Midoriya's Quirk is too powerful for his body to physically handle.
  • The Comically Serious: Todoroki is more confused at the hilarity of Bakugo mocking Camie's impersonation of him than insulted at being derided.
  • Love Bubbles: Shown when Camie impersonates Todoroki to try and charm the children; sparkles and flowers appear in the background. The same effects are shown when Bakugo tries the same.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Bakugo lampshades this in his advice to the ringleader of the Masegaki students not to look down on other people when he tells the latter to join in the fun.
  • So Proud of You: Endeavor tells his son, Shoto, this after seeing how he is able to bond with the kids. Shoto awkwardly shrugs him off.
  • Take the Third Option: The students know that defeating or losing/surrendering to the younger kids will only have them looked down on even more. They decide to use the Quirks to instead entertain them and it works.
