Deku: Eri, will you please lend me your power?
Despite being outmatched and his dark destiny on the verge of coming true, Deku refuses to give up. Luckily, a few surprises allow him to finally get the advantage to save Eri and bring down the Yakuza leader once and for all.

Tropes

  • Big Word Shout: Doubles with Say My Name: ERI!!!!!
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Ryukyu's all-female team is infamously unscathed against Rikiya Katsukame, but only because the most he does is drain his target's energy. They avoid getting hit and are able to defeat him easily.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Remember the drop of Midoriya's blood that Toga got during the Provisional License Exam, back when she impersonated another student? She finally makes use of it. Disguised as Midoriya, she lures Uraraka's team to where they can meet with him.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Eri has played a central role in the season so far, being a part of Overhaul's plans. In this episode, Midoriya discovers the true nature of her Rewind Quirk and relies on her to reverse his injuries while he unleashes One For All to its full potential.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Midoriya is able to finally defeat Overhaul thanks to his and Eri's Quirks.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Midoriya escapes with Eri before Overhaul can attack them in midair. During their descent, he realizes that his legs should have broken from One For All's full force like the first time, and suspects that Eri's Quirk has something to do with his body not shattering. Upon learning the truth from Overhaul himself, he asks Eri to lend him her power repair his injuries and straps her onto his back with Lemillion's cape as he utilizes One For All at 100%.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Chisaki's old boss was disgusted at his idea of using Eri for his project, especially since she is a child and his granddaughter. Unfortunately, Chisaki has already begun his plan and puts his boss in a coma.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Had Chisaki not stopped to taunt Eri to manipulate her and thus reveal the nature of her quirk in front of Deku, he probably wouldn't have come up with a plan to use it to his advantage and take Chisaki down for good, because he is initially unable to understand what her quirk does in the first place.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Ryukyu, Uraraka, Asui, and Nejire fought the brutish Rikiya Katsukame when the raid started, but much of it was not shown. The episode begins with them tying him up, but he breaks free after sapping their energy. The episode subverts this trope by seeing them wrap up their fight.
  • The Reveal: A flashback reveals that the Yakuza boss entrusted Chisaki with investigating Eri's Quirk that made her father disappear, which led to her mother abandoning her in fear. Chisaki learns that her power actually allows her to reverse time to anyone she comes in contact with.
  • Screw Destiny: Sir Nighteye believed that Midoriya is destined to die in this fight. He is shocked and soon relieved that the boy is able to invoke this trope hard.
  • Spanner in the Works: Toga and Twice finally decide to put a monkey wrench on Overhaul's plan by bringing Ryukyu's fight to him and Midoriya, right as the villain is ready to kill the young hero. They were interested in abducting Eri, but decide to bail when they are discovered. Avenging their friend Magne was enough.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Young Eri finally awakens her Rewind Quirk, allowing Deku to save her, and then to act as a health buffer during his Curb-Stomp Battle. It's not enough to beat Overhaul on her own, but it's enough to escape while breaking his fusion with Nemoto, heal Deku's injuries, and defuse Overhaul's fusion with Katsukame (albeit by accident when her Rewind Quirk starts going haywire).
  • Villainous Breakdown: Chisaki has been frustrated throughout the raid, but now starts to lose it once Eri activates her Quirk on her own and rushes to Midoriya.
