Tommy and Kimberly's friendly competition in the race against one another to become Angel Grove High's School President turns ugly when Rita & Zedd have a spell cast on the couple. The now-bitter rivalry spills over into their Ranger duties, giving Goldar a chance to capture Saba! With Rita now in command of the enchanted saber, the White Tigerzord clashes with the Thunder Megazord! Can the White and Pink Rangers get over their political feud and work together before one Zord destroys another?
Tropes:
- 0% Approval Rating: For his election campaign, Bulk promises nothing more than to reveal the Power Rangers' identities. In the final election, he only gets one vote (his own). This shows that the entire student body was more focused on the improvement of their school than finding out who the Rangers are. Even Skull voted for Kimberly!
- Filler: As Linkara pointed out, the main plot of this episode doesn't do much in terms of a story besides showing Tommy and Kim going at each other due to Rita's spell. The fact that it's sandwiched between the multi-parters that have been going on since "Rangers Back in Time" doesn't help.
- Graceful Loser: Tommy willingly backs down from the election out of support for Kimberly.
- Ignored Enemy: Goldar tries getting Kim's attention while arguing with Tommy in the middle of a putty fight, only for her to brush him off. Goldar responds in kind by socking her with a hard left.
- Innocuously Important Episode: While there is some Dairanger footage spliced in, most of the fight between the Thunder Megazord and White Tiger Zord is original footage, much like Octophantom's brief shots punching the former in "The Power Stealer".
- Offhand Backhand: While Kimberly and Tommy are in the middle of arguing, Tommy casually bats Kim's arm away, causing her to accidentally backhand a Putty.
- Talk to the Fist: Goldar gives Kimberly a knuckle-sandwich when she tries to get him to back off from her fight with Tommy.
