Recap / Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers S2E43 The Wedding Part 3

Go To

The wedding of Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa finally takes place! But how long will the honeymoon last when Rita's dowry to Zedd, the Power Rangers trapped in the mystical abandoned theatre, begins to unravel? Even if the Rangers can ensnare their revived monster captors and escape again, they'll have to reprogram Alpha 5, and take on the largest group of giant monsters they've ever faced!

Tropes

  • Ambiguously Jewish: Zedd, of all people. Watch him get his groove on to that old Jewish wedding standby, "Hava Nagila".
  • The Cameo: The Lizzinator appears briefly during the chase scene only to bump into Robogoat and disappear from the episode. He isn't shown at all during the zord fight.
  • Happily Married: To Zedd, anyway. Until they begin to act like a real married couple when they both argue after the Rangers defeated them.
  • Hidden Depths: Snizzard knows how to play piano relatively well.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Bulk and Skull, after they're teleported from their outback experience.
    Both: Nothing. Happened.
  • Lohengrin and Mendelssohn: When Rita walks to the throne, Snizzard plays the Wedding March on the organ, she sings to the tune and changes the lyrics to "Here Comes the Queen".
  • Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace:
Finster: Is there any creature present who knows why these two should not be wed?
Goldar: Yes, now that you mentioned it, I--
Rita: (hits Goldar with her staff) Ah, can it! (to Finster) Get on with it!
  • Stock Footage:
    • A lot of sped-up shots Alpha, except him returning to normal after the disc is removed is recycled. The shots of the helmetless rangers are a mixture of Stock and Deleted footage due to their actors shooting the feature film, this three-parter and the next one in Australia, while Billy removing the disc is recycled and reversed from "Green With Evil: Part 1".
    • The entire monster battle with the Thunderzords fighting the old monsters is this due to possibly not wanting to damage the suits beyond repair or to save the cost of filming an entirely original zord battle (the American team did have the zord suits by that point in production).
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Evil Alpha denies knowing Zordon.
  • This Cannot Be!: Goldar's reaction to the wedding.
  • This Means War!: Goldar leads the monsters and Putties after the Rangers after they escaped the theater.
Goldar: Attention monsters, this is a declaration of war!
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: As mentioned on Part II's page, Zordon barely has any reaction to Rita returning to be a threat, let alone her marriage to Zedd. All Zordon's reaction amounts to is basically "Well, that's bad. We'll just have to be more vigilant rangers!" It's almost treated as a Foregone Conclusion that Rita would come back.
  • Villain Decay: All those monsters who gave the Rangers trouble individually before they are made into an army, only to be taken down effortlessly by the Zords.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Peckster and Rhinoblaster get a net thrown on them and disappear from the narrative. Also, Snizzard and Invenusable Flytrap are not shown joining the Megazord battle with the other monsters. To say nothing of Lizzinator's brief cameo that shows him bumping into Robogoat.
