Jason, Zack, and Trini are chosen to attend the World Peace Conference in Switzerland. This means the Power Rangers are going to need a trio of replacements! But first, in order to transfer the powers to anyone else, our six heroes must travel across the galaxy, to the Deserted Planet. Lord Zedd's aware of their plan, and gives chase in his very own evil Zord, Serpentera! Meanwhile, back in Angel Grove, Baboo and Squatt activate a sleep machine to keep all possible replacements unconscious. Can Rocky, Adam, and Aisha avoid slumberland?

- Abandoned Area: The Deserted Planet is stated to have been this for thousands of years.
- Badass Boast: Zedd when traveling to the Deserted Planet in Serpentera.
- Zedd: Ahh, Lord Zedd, scourge of the universe, I'll be famous, or rather infamous.
- Giant Equals Invincible: Serpentera is this, as Jason's Thunderzord was barely the size of its ankle, and had to summon Tor to escape.
- Giant Foot of Stomping: Zedd tries to defeat Jason and his Thunderzord by having Serpentera to try to crush him. Jason survives thanks to Tor.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Baboo briefly falls asleep accidentally when he and Squatt are sent to activate the Sleep machine on Earth.
- Humongous Mecha: Serpentera. Zedd derides the Thunderzords as mosquitoes by comparison, and it's Not Hyperbole.Zedd: (Seeing the Thunderzords flying by) What was that? A mosquito?, You're wasting your time Red Ranger!.
- Instant Sedation: The sleep cloud causes this en masse.
- Sanity Ball: Goldar tries to point out that destroying the entire Deserted Planet just to kill the Rangers might be a case of overkill (though he's more concern about using up too much power), but Zedd doesn't want to hear it. This ends up coming back to bite him on the butt in the next episode.
- Stealth Insult: Zedd tells Goldar, "You'd lose your brains if you weren't sitting on them!" A Getting Crap Past the Radar way to say he has his head up his ass.
- Stock Footage: For scenes where Jason, Zack, and Trini couldn't be obscured, group shots from "Green No More, Part 1" were reused. This is why Tommy is wearing his green shirt again, so that the new footage will match.
- This Is Gonna Suck: As the Rangers try to pull the sword free, the ground suddenly starts shaking.Kimberly: Guys, I think we're in serious trouble.
- To Be Continued: "At long last, victory is mine. The entire universe trembles before Lord Zedd. Goodbye, Power Rangers! Ha-ha!"
- Tough Armored Dinosaur: Well Tortoise, as Tor is able to protect Jason inside his shell from being crushed by a giant Serpentera.
- We Need a Distraction: Jason buys the others time to find the sword by facing Serpentera in his Zord.
