Tari and Evelyn face off in their most crucial battle yet to determine the fate of Silica City.
With the fate of the world at stake, it's MD-5 vs. SHER Corp as things start to come to a head.
Episode 27 contains examples of:
- Break the Cutie: Tari breaks down when Evelyn tells her that Theo is dead and screams that she just wanted to protect her friends. This is what causes Masa to break himself free from Sheridan's control.
- Cliffhanger: The last one in the series. The episode ends with Tari luring Lucinia into following her through the gateway to Sheridan's server.
- Graceful Loser: Downplayed. While Lamar was by no means happy when Evelyn's team sent him back to Shipwreck Swamp, The Stinger shows Lamar to be completely fine with it since Evelyn was sent back as well.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Masa is seemingly killed when his control device explodes, but in the process manages to knock out Sheridan and free Belle from her own control device, which in turn allows her to stab Lucinia in a way that transfers data fragments to Tari, restoring her to full power.
- Heroic Willpower: Upon coming to his senses after Tari cries about how she just wanted to protect her friends, Masa is able to pilot his real body while still warped to attack Sheridan.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: Evelyn’s lust for being dominant over Tari ends up being her undoing, as Tari’s despair over her gloating that she killed Theo kicks off a chain of events that results in Tari regaining her full power and Evelyn not only suffering yet another crushing defeat, but her eventual arrest in the finale.
- "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: While Marco is fighting the brainwashed Masa, Lamar tells him that even though he's being controlled, he's still in there. Lamar tries telling him that he just wants to keep his friends safe. This does bring out a little bit of free will in Masa, but Sheridan overrides that by adding more power, causing Masa to take out Lamar.
- Ironic Echo: When confronting Evelyn after regaining her full power, Tari taunts her by throwing the same question Evelyn taunted her with in "Testing Room" back at her:Tari: What’s wrong? Realizing you actually have to rely on skill now?
- Know When to Fold 'Em: After getting killed by Tari, in The Stinger, Evelyn makes no effort to escape Shipwreck Swamp or fight Lamar, fully knowing that there's nothing she can do to further interfere with Tari.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Sheridan would have been able to pull his plan off unopposed had Evelyn not taunted Tari by gloating about killing Theo. Tari's reaction awakened enough strong emotions in Masa to restore his free will and let him break free from Sheridan's control device, which directly resultes in Sheridan being knocked out once it explodes, and indirectly leads to Tari regaining full power.
- Sole Survivor: By the end of the episode, Tari and Lucinia are the only members of the MD-5 and SHERCorp respectively to have not been defeated and both are about to enter Sheridan's server.
- The Stinger: After the credits roll, instead of a screen with links to the other episodes, subscription, and merch, an unusually quiet scene featuring Lamar tossing stones at a pouting Evelyn's mech is shown, while Marco's avatar is motionless due to him being AFK, with Belle respawning and getting greeted by Petey in the far distance a few seconds later.
- Taking You with Me: Due to Masa regaining control over himself, it causes the device to be overloaded by his free will, so Masa attempts to keep Sheridan pinned a the wall so that they're both blown up by it. Sheridan narrowly manages to save his own life using a screwdriver to stab Masa in the neck, but the explosion still manages to make him fall unconscious, preventing him from further interfering with Tari for now.
- Triumphant Reprise: After Tari regains her full Meta Runner powers, she fights against Evelyn set to the instrumental version of Always Running. Doubles as a Theme Music Power-Up.
- Wham Episode: Evelyn causes Theo to disappear and Masa gets seemingly killed when Sheridan's control device blows up after his regained free will overloads it, making Sheridan pass out in the process. Marco has also found the location of Sheridan's server, and now Tari has to hurry and return life to Lucinia before Marco destroys the server.
