  • Can't Take Criticism: Silgard kidnaps people who disagrees with his methods. This includes an alien that was confused by the idea for using guacamole to purify water and K for turning down his suggestion for aromatherapy in MIB’s bathrooms because it was a safety hazard for a certain alien species. This is enough to convince Silgard that the proper retribution is to create a black hole that will eventually consume the entire Earth.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Zed is irritated by the fact that, as far as everyone knew at the time, the worms almost caused a nuclear meltdown for the sake of making coffee. This frustrates Zed even further, given the fact that the majority of the worms’ antics on the show is caused by their obsession with coffee.
  • Insufferable Genius: MIB's janitor Silgard has shades of this, gloating about the technological achievements he’s made, demanding that everyone admits he’s a genius, and plots revenge on those who turn down his suggestions. When he’s arrested at the end of the episode, he feels like he doesn’t deserve to go to jail on the grounds of him being a genius.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: J coerces Frank to let him and the worms stay at his place, then have him snoop in the Silgard’s closet at MIB headquarters. When Silgard comes to silence them, Frank’s apartment and newsstand end up as collateral damage, much to his chagrin.
  • Pet the Dog: Zed has nothing but distain for the worms, and the reactor incident was the final straw. When he finds out that they were innocent all along, he offers them a thermos of coffee as an apology.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Subverted. The worms didn’t drain enough cooling water from the reactor to cause a meltdown. But still, draining water from nuclear reactor to fill a coffee pot is a rather foolish decision regardless.
