Chaud worries the new PET and Battle Chip gate has made Lan complacent and teaches him a lesson about not getting too confident.
- The Comically Serious: Chaud and Raoul's disguises and acting are kind of over the top but keep in mind they're doing it to teach Lan a lesson.
- Fighting Fingerprint: Two examples. One defied, one inverted.
- Defied: When the battle begins, Raoul unleashes one electric attack after another. Chaud tells him not to use too many electric attacks or else Lan might figure out its them.
- Inverted: Chaud knows Lan's strategies and is able to counter most of them. Lan eventually admits to himself he's at a loss. If he gets close, they'll attack with a sword, if he stays far, he gets hit by electricity.
- Improvised Weapon: Inverted. Sword Man sticks his sword in the ground for a makeshift lightning rod and absorb Thunder Man's electricity.
- Shock and Awe: Mega Man gains Thunder Soul and latches onto Sword Man to prevent him from dodging.
- Temporarily a Villain: Invoked. Chaud, Raoul and Thunder Man disguise as a Darkloid and its operators to battle Mega Man and teach Lan he's not invincible.
