"Jayadrath! Sunset hasn’t occurred yet! You killed my Abhimanyu! RRRRUUUUUNNNN"
Arjun

Prepare for an action packed episode of Mahabharata, as Arjun closes in on Jayadrath, trying to kill him before sunset.

Tropes found here are

  • Blade Lock: Bhim and Karna get into a Sword Fight and lock blades. Then both of them push against each other so hard, that the blades break.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Dhritharashtra hopes that Arjun’s death will drive Yudhistir into this. However, when 21 more Kauravas die by Bhim’s hand, Dhritharashtra falls into it.
  • Deus ex Machina: Just when it seems as though there are still too many warriors between Arjun and Jayadrath, Krishna conjures up a thick cloud to obscure the sun and darken the sky. Assuming that sunset has occurred, the Kauravas and Jayadrath cast their weapons aside and start laughing and gloating. Then, Krishna removes the cloud, showing a sun that hasn’t set yet. Jayadrath is now caught completely unawares.
  • Did Not See That Coming: As Dronacharya prepares to engage in an archery duel with Bhim, the latter flings his mace at Dronacharya’s chariot, shattering it. He does so again and again until 8 chariots are smashed and Dronacharya is out of the fight.
  • Dirty Coward: Jayadrath (again) cowers in fear and tries to run. He doesn’t get very far.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills / Off with His Head! : Arjun’s arrow lops off Jayadrath’s head and carries it all the way to dump it onto Jayadrath’s meditating father’s lap.
  • I Shall Taunt You: When cloud cover obscures the sun, Duryodhan and Jayadrath scream at Arjun, demanding that he immolate himself.
  • Hypocrite: An unnamed warrior was preparing to mortally stab an unconscious Satyaki, when Arjun impales his hand with an arrow. The man starts bellyaching about being attacked from behind while dismounted in violation of the Rules Of Engagement, but Arjun reminds him that he is violating those rules by attacking an unconscious Satyaki.
  • Killed Offscreen: Twenty Kauravas are killed by Bhim offscreen before Vikarna gets to him.
  • My Brother, Right Or Wrong: Bhim does not want to fight Vikarna aka Kaurava #3, as he had opposed Duryodhan’s behavior during the dice game. However, Vikarna states that Duryodhan is still his elder brother, and therefore Vikarna must fight at his side, right or wrong.
  • Neck Snap: How Bhim kills Vikarna.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Yudhistir panics upon hearing Krishna’s conch and demands that Satyaki, Dhrishtadyumna and Bhim abandon him to go and help Arjun, leaving him vulnerable to capture by Dronacharya. Arjun didn’t even need help.
  • Your Head Asplode: When Jayadrath’s head is dumped onto his meditating dad’s lap by Arjun’s arrow, the old man jumps up startled and lets Jayadrath’s lifeless head tumble to the ground. His own curse takes effect, causing his own head to explode.
  • You Will Be Spared: Karna has his spear at Bhim’s throat but doesn’t kill him. Because he promised Kunti he’d spare all Pandavas except Arjun.
