Linda, who has been stalking her daughter, Adriana, for some time, surrenders herself to the LAPD when the latter seems to be involved in a crime. Chloe and Lucifer decide to help her prove Adriana's innocence. Meanwhile, Amenadiel is contemplating his choice to become God.

- Internal Reveal: Lucifer and Chloe learn about Linda having a daughter. Adriana learns that Linda is her biological mother at the end.
- Mama Bear: Linda, who frames herself as the killer to protect Adriana, strenuously believes in her innocence, and refuses to consider that she might be a criminal. Nearly crosses into Knight Templar Parent, as well, when she attempts to deliver vigilante justice to the real killer when he doesn't seem to get justice.
- Manipulative Bastard: Adriana's boyfriend, Owen, fakes being romantically attracted to her in order to frame her for a murder he committed.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Maze brutally beats Clive Winter after the latter shot Eve, though we don't see much of it as the scene cuts to Eve's hazy POV.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Having spent the entire episode trying to deflect Lucifer's increasingly obvious attempt to nudge her into commenting on his relationship progress with Chloe, Linda goes ballistic when he seems to go on at it again after her belief in Adriana's innocence is shattered. She bluntly tells him that their therapy did not work and he is just as selfish and self-absorbed as ever. He actually calmly listens until her ranting ends, before continuing what he was about to say.
- Refusing Paradise: At the end of the episode, Amenadiel decides that he prefers life on Earth over Silver City, rejecting the candidacy to become God.
- Ship Sinking: Just when Maze and Eve are on the verge of reconciling, Maze preemptively breaks it off when she rejects Eve's decision to remain mortal.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Adriana works out that Linda is her biological mother due to their matching hair and them both wearing glasses.
- Who Wants to Live Forever?: Eve turns down Maze's offer of Lilith's ring, which will make her immortal, as she does not want to be driven insane by immortality just as it did to her son Cain.
- You Wouldn't Shoot Me: Owen doesn't believe Linda has it in her to shoot him, thinking she's as harmless as Adriana. But Linda is determined to prove him wrong to protect her daughter. However, Chloe and Lucifer arrived to arrest him before she could pull the trigger.
