Chekhov's Skill: The trick Laura taught the real Jesper plays a pivotal part in the climax when the raccoon reappears and repeats the trick just as Charles, convinced that the rabbid raccoon he killed was Jasper, and that both Laura and Jack were doomed, was about to put the poor dog out of misery.
Deus ex Machina: Just as Charles is convinced that Jack is getting worse from the rabbis and is about to shoot thepoor dog, the real Jasper appears and does his signature tricl, revealing that he's alive and neother Jack nor Laura are sick after all.
Gory Discretion Shot: Charles spots a rabbid raccoon whoch he and the girls (mistakenly) think is Jasper, and pitchforks it to death. The scene shows Charles and the pitchfork, but the (fake) Jasper is left our of sight.
Tears of Joy: When the real Jasper appears and Charles realizes Jack and Laura aren't with rabbids after all and, Charles burts into tears of relief that his daughter and their dog aren't dying.
