The team braves a blizzard to find a portal to Quetzalcoatl's world, but striking a deal with a mythical wolf is the only way through it.


Tropes:

  • Angry Guard Dog: Fenrir, forced to guard Yggdrasil as he is chained to it.
  • Evil Versus Oblivion: As Father Godofredo warns the team, while Quetzalcoatl plans to destroy the world and remake it, Fenrir's goal is to simply destroy everything.
  • Fighting Your Friend: When Leo first sees them, Father Godofredo, Marcella, and Leo's Abuela initially attack him, thinking that he's a Horroroso pretending to be Leo in order to trick them out of the barricaded monastery. This is because the Horrorosos have tried this trick multiple times, with no success.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Leo doesn't realize that his village is in Quetzalcoatl's domain until Father Godofredo points it out to him.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy: Despite turning away the group once already, the troll guards are completely fooled by Don Andres' Thor disguise, thanks to a little help from Alebrije providing some static electricity.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Alebrije gets separated from the team in order to keep the Esfera away from both Quetzalcoatl and Fenrir.
  • MacGuffin: The Esfera is an artifact of Quetzalcoatl's that is said to be a powerful weapon, strong enough to bring about his downfall, but it is unclear how it actually works.
  • Portal Network: Entering the portal in the base of Yggdrasil leads to the Nexus, a space full of portals that connect to all times and locations.
  • The Prophecy: There apparently is one about defeating Quetzalcoatl, as told to the team by Fenrir: "Only the Lion can defeat the Serpent."
  • Sixth Ranger: Marcella joins the group after she and Leo reunite.
