While investigating sightings of a strange monster who steals children's souls, Leo and the gang unearth a far more sinister threat.
Tropes:
- He Who Fights Monsters: Leo's desire to save his village and family from Quetzacoatl's grasp almost gets the better of him in this episode, as he argues against Teodora that they should ignore the Vodnik's soul-stealing and instead focus on Baba Yaga and defeating Quetzacoatl as fast as they can, even if that means abandoning Alebrije, who had his soul taken from him by the Vodnik while acquiring the last ingredient for the Veritas potion. He backs off on this attitude, however, after hearing from the Vodnik how much he had sacrificed in pursuit of his twisted goal.
- Truth Serums: The Veritas potion, which can be used to force someone to answer three questions truthfully. Diluting it in half can allow it to be used on another person, but in doing so allows the one who drank it to lie on any one of the questions.
- Unspoken Plan Guarantee: Within the first part of the episode, the team is able to sneak up on and capture Baba Yaga, the witch who has been messing with them over the past few episodes. The fact that they had a plan to do so, or even knew about her existence, isn't revealed until she's captured.
- Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Baba Yaga takes advantage of the heroes celebrating their victory by commanding her house to run away, with her in it, after they leave to rest in the town.
