- Batman Gambit: Aurora allows Hope to defeat her, goading her into staking her...all of which is her plan to trick Hope into a Body Swap.
- The Bus Came Back: Aurora returns.
- Also, Dana Leiman's mother, Vera, shows up in the afterlife to give a What the Hell, Hero? speech on Alaric never telling the town about the supernatural.
- Cassandra Truth: The witch claims she's bound by magic to be killed if she ever betrays the rest of the Triad. Hope assumes it's a bluff as the woman would never give up her life like that. But as soon as the woman starts to talk about where the werewolf can be found, she catches on fire.
- Glamour Failure: The first witch of the Triads appears to be a stunningly gorgeous woman in her late 20s. When Hope confronts her, she uses a candle which causes the woman's spell to fade and reveals her true age to be much older.
- Jerkass Has a Point: While yelling at Alaric, Vera makes the good point that his keeping the supernatural secret from the town elders got people, including her daughter, killed. Even Landon relates "she's got a point" when Vera snaps Alaric doesn't even seem to think he did anything wrong.
- The fact Alaric never even knew Vera was dead of "a broken heart and cancer" doesn't help his case.
- Loophole Abuse: Technically, Aurora never betrayed the Triad by tricking Hope into killing off the other two sides so she could then swap bodies with her. She lampshades it with "magical loopholes." Sadly, should Hope try to warn anyone about the swap, that will count as a betrayal to kill "Aurora."
- Shout-Out: Josie's "therapy box" is a medical drama ala Grey's Anatomy.
