- Awful Wedded Life: Judge McNamara seems to have a low opinion of marriage, asking Carisi if he's ready for "the longest arraignment" of his life and when Fin toasts "to love" at the reception, he responds "If you say so." Kind of makes you wonder why he was picked to officiate in the first place.
- Bait-and-Switch: The entire first five minutes are set up as the squad preparing for an important trial, but it's actually Rollins and Carisi's wedding.
- Child by Rape: Noah turns out to not have been the only son Johnny Drake fathered on one of his victims, having fathered another son Connor years before Noah.
- Cool Big Bro: They're only a year apart, but Noah and Connor immediately hit it off.

- Idiot Ball: When Benson tells Fin that Noah has a half-brother, he reacts with surprise when Benson says he's his half-brother on the paternal side. Given that Johnny D was a pimp who raped multiple girls, and Ellie Porter was a murdered teenager, anyone with half a brain would assume the half-brother was on the paternal side.
- Long-Lost Relative: It's discovered Noah has an older paternal half-brother, Connor McCann, whose birth mother was another of Johnny D's rape victims.
- Maiden Name Debate: Discussed, when Olivia jokingly toasts Amanda as "Mrs. Carisi" and then asks if Amanda is going to change her name. Amanda is considering it, and Olivia gives a full-body shudder at the thought.
- Meaningful Echo: Amanda's "marriage is a lot like a crime" explanation sounds suspiciously like the second half of Carisi's "a partnership is a lot like a marriage" analogy from his unused wedding speech that prompted their Relationship Upgrade.

- My Own Private "I Do": Amanda and Sonny spring a wedding at the courthouse on the squad. It's an elope first, plan later variety; they mention at their reception that Carisi's mother is planning a larger celebration at a later date.

She grapples with whether or not to tell them, but just as she decides to do so, they change their mind and want to wait until Connor is older and asks himself.
- Wham Line: When Olivia asks Noah who Connor is, Noah replies "my big brother!"
