The investigation into the sexual exploitation of Catholic schoolgirls continues even as Benson is suspended following her confession of a romantic relationship with Ed Tucker. However, when SVU's main witness is murdered, Rollins and Carisi must discover who among the local Catholic clergy is responsible. As the detectives struggle with leads, Tucker's cousin is discovered to have a dark secret that may help Benson and Tucker keep their jobs, along with arresting the criminals involved.

- Crooked Cop: A lot of officers in Vice squad.
- Gilligan Cut: In one scene, Chief Dodds tells Mike to walk away from the case and absolutely not to get himself entangled with Tucker. Cut to Mike in Benson's apartment, talking to her and Tucker about how to break the case.
- I Am Not My Father: It was already suggested in previous episodes, but this is the episode that makes it absolutely clear that Mike Dodds is different from his father, as the two take pretty much opposite approaches to the case.
- Relationship Reveal: The episode reveals that Olivia and Capt. Ed Tucker have been seeing each other romantically for some time when she kisses his fingers.
- Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Dodds (and by extension the rest of the unit) chooses to keep Benson and Tucker in the loop and seek their insights even though he knows he's not supposed to.
