Written By Dawn De Noon

An allegedly abused foster child is apprehended while driving a runaway van, leading detectives to re-examine a case involving a rape victim (Sara Gilbert) only to discover that the aforementioned rape is connected to a string of rape committed by the foster father (Luke Perry).

This episode provides examples of:

  • Alliterative Family: Christopher and Caitlyn Ryan.
  • And Starring: Guest-stars lineup ends "With Sara Gilbert and Luke Perry".
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Christopher Ryan is acknowledged to have ADHD.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Thanks to his foster parents' abuse, Christopher is just way out of control.
  • Call-Back:
  • Continuity Nod: While visiting a bar, Munch talks to Fin about how he used to own a bar in Baltimore and also mentions several people from his past that have left him such as Monique Jeffries, Brian Cassidy, and even Meldrick Lewis and Stanley Bolander from his original series.
  • Cruel Twist Ending: Poor Gwen tries to stop her husband from being arrested, only to find out that she herself is also one of his rape victims.
  • Debut Queue: Kim Greylek makes her debut.
  • Drives Like Crazy: The episode begins with a van almost running people over and ramming a few other vehicles. Turns out it's justified since the driver is a kid, but it's scary nonetheless.
  • Foreshadowing: Noah says something to the effect of he hopes his wife's rapist is never caught for his sake, with the implication that Noah will turn vigilante if this ever happens. The comment takes on a whole new meaning when it's revealed Noah is her rapist.
  • Groin Attack: When she learns that her husband is actually her rapist, Gwen knees Noah in the nuts before he's led into the squad car.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Noah's attempt at controlling two of his rape victims by marrying one and fostering the other's son ultimately leads to him being investigated, found out, and convicted.

    • As it happens, Noah is caught via DNA through leaving a parting gift of a wet slobbery kiss on the cheek of his foster son- allowing the detectives to connect him to at least one of his victims.

  • Ironic Episode Title: The episode doesn't have a court scene. Indeed, the only potential courtroom scene never happens because Greylek pleads the case out to avoid having to put the victims through the strain of a trial.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Noah orchestrated the entire situation despite having raped both Gwen and Caitlyn, convincing Gwen to marry him and Caitlyn to give her child to them. When Gwen learns that Noah was her rapist, she gave him a Groin Attack.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Kathleen is wearing a revealing attire, which pisses her father off.
  • Remember the New Guy?: The main characters worked with Caitlyn's case two years prior, yet she's nowhere to be seen during Season 8. Same goes for her fellow rape victims.
  • Sarcasm Mode: Stabler offers a sarcastic "Sorry about that" after Gwen knees Noah in the family jewels.
  • Serial Rapist: Noah Sibert targets Struggling Single Mothers.
  • Struggling Single Mother: Christopher's biological mother Caitlyn, along with Noah's other rape victims except Gwen.
  • Tropaholics Anonymous: Gwen and Caitlyn met at a rape victims support group.
  • Two First Names: Christopher Ryan and his mother Caitlyn.
