Go To

Luanne helps Hank protest against a grilling contest that's banning propane grills, but Hank thinks Luanne is acting immature. Meanwhile, Peggy visits a house that was once a murder scene, but the real estate agent only wants potential buyers.

Tropes:

  • The Ditz: Played for drama with Luanne, who is treated like a child by everyone she knows, even other children. Made worse by them laughing in her face with no consideration how that would make her feel.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Luanne's subplot for the episode is dealing with the fact that no one who interacts with her respects her due to her ditzy immaturity. When she misguidedly tries to act mature and authoritative to Bobby and Connie they just laugh her off. She latches onto Hank for seeming to value her opinion until he loses patience with her ditziness as well.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Dale is usually petty to no end, but even he gets exhausted by Hank's devotion to propane.
  • Not Helping Your Case: Luanne says that even though she still lives at home and has to bum rides, she should be taken seriously.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Hank is deeply offended that no one but him seems to care that propane is barred from the grilling contest, even his coworkers. Luanne takes it further because she's projecting her own desperation to be taken seriously on people taking propane seriously.
  • Special Guest: Phil Hendrie as Rent-a-Cop and Big Tex; Mary Kay Place as Melly-Anne and Elijah Wood as Jason.
