Bobby gets a new girlfriend and science lab project partner— Connie's delinquent cousin Tid Pao, who soon proves a bad influence on him.

Tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: Dale proposes that they use razor wire to protect their fence. Hank heaves a weary sigh and says "Dang it, Dale..." and then admits it's genius.
  • Beware the Nice Ones:
    • The sushi chef Carl only tolerates Tid Pao's presence because of Bobby, and openly tells her not to tick him off when Bobby isn't around.
    • Connie uses her potato gun to wreck Bobby's "Candy-making" equipment, to the shock of everyone, saving Bobby from being outed as a meth maker.
  • Continuity Nod: The shef Carl returns by renaming his restaurant from Showbiz Deli in selling deli meat to Showbiz Sushi to sell sushi. Unlike before, Hank tolerates the place.
  • Jerkass: Tid Pao to the max. She tricks Bobby into creating a meth lab, using the guise of it being their science fair project, and commits several crimes to get the equipment for the lab and ingredients for the drugs, some of which she ropes him into; this is all to manufacture enough crystal meth to make a drug deal that will allow her to repay a street gang she stole drugs from back in her hometown of Los Angeles (the reason she was sent to Arlen) and fly back home first-class. And when she sees her plan about to fall apart after noticing a school police officer as part of the fair's judge panel, she doesn't think twice about leaving him with the lab and drugs to take the fall for everything.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: For tricking Bobby into making a meth lab under the guise of a science fair project, committing several crimes to get the ingredients for the meth (some of which she roped him into), and abandoning him to take the fall for it all, Tid Pao is sent to Wisconsin to live with Kahn's other brother (her last remaining uncle and relative in the U.S.), who warns her that if she screws up under his watch, she'll be sent back to Laos to live with her grandmother. Ironically, despite insultingly calling Bobby a "pig farmer" earlier in the episode, she's the one who ends up working on a farm.
  • Mistaken for Thief: A hungover Buck confuses a propane robbery at Strickland for stealing the office's coffee money, much to Hank's own confusion.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: At the very end, after Tid Pao somehow avoids retaliation for stealing drugs from a gangster, and jail time for tricking Bobby into making meth at the science fair, she finds herself at a dairy farm in the middle of Wisconsin where an uncle, and the last relative she has living in the U.S., says to her: "you screw up here, we send you to grandma, in Laos!" Tid Pao immediately starts shoveling manure.
  • Pitbull Dates Puppy: Tid Pao is the pitbull and Bobby is the puppy.
  • Special Guest: Lucy Liu as Tid Pao.
