Recap / King Of The Hill S 5 E 13 Ho Yeah

Go To

Hank and Peggy take in a nice young lady named Tammi, originally from Oklahoma, who wants to turn her life around. What the Hills don't know is Tammi is a prostitute, and Hank (who just got his father's Cadillac and a cowboy hat from Tammi) is mistaken for a pimp out to take Tammi away from the one she left behind.

Tropes:

  • Big Bad: Alabaster Jones, Tammi's ex-pimp.
  • Brainless Beauty: Tammi is a very attractive woman and kind woman, however, she’s Book Dumb.
  • '80s Hair: Tammi sports an anachronistic do that makes her look like Peg Bundy. Justified as she's a hooker and she (or her pimp) probably thought it was attractive.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Hank is genuinely surprised that Alabaster would disobey a traffic light, especially given his visual determination to get Tammi back.
  • Hooker with a Heart of Gold: Her profession aside, Tammi is a perfectly nice lady. Despite wanting to turn her life around, she continues prostituting because she wasn't making enough money from Strickland Propane quickly.
  • Jive Turkey: Alabaster talks this way. Hank dabbles in some as well.
  • Mommy Issues: Like Peggy, Tammi doesn't get along with her mother.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Hank finally puts two and two together and realizes Tammi is a hooker and that everyone thought he was a pimp, he does not take it well.
  • Pretty Fly for a White Guy: Tammi's ex-pimp, Alabaster Jones, is this and then some. Down to being voiced by Snoop Dogg. When he confronts Alabaster, Hanks uses some Jive Turkey phrases to get Alabaster to back off when he gives alabaster the money Tammy made from turning tricks.
  • Sleeping with the Boss: Due to thinking Peggy's a hooker, Alabaster assumes this is the case when Hank says she's his wife. The trouble that can arise from this trope is why he is amused by Hank's "rookie mistake".
